This is a chocoholic's dream. I have known people to spend $50-100 per visit! Recommend you do NOT go in there hungry or with a lot of spare cash. You will walk out poorer and quite a few pounds heavier. If you do not find a chocolate that tickles your fancy there is a candy shop just down the strip. The Chocolate Bar has a wide selection of cakes, cookies, truffles, brownies, ice cream, and dipped treats. There is something for everyone.
This is a great eatery/pub. It has a rustic but fun atmosphere. We love playing full size chess outside. Excellent place to take out of town guess who are weary of bbq and texmex. I recommend the black bean soup, pork chops and apple sauce (their potato pancakes are similar to traditional Potato Latkes/hash browns and not the spiced potato pancakes most restaurant serve). My husband likes the fish though thinks the batter is a bit on the heavy side.
We took advantage of one of their $5 discount days a $4.25 (adult) savings. Definitely a better way of exploring the facility before you plunk down a bundle. They usually have extra activities planned on these days as well. I prefer the shark tunnel at moody gardens over the $5 train ride. By the time you load up it is over too soon. Recommend packing a lunch, as doing the activities really adds up.
My last movie outing before the birth of our child was to a double feature at the studio movie grill. Good finger food served right at your seat. Service was fast and friendly, but make sure you are persistent, but not obnoxious in getting a waiter, as they are very busy and quick at passing through the aisles. The theater seating is comfortable and spacious though sits a bit farther back then most are used to. Having a table in front of you is nice, but odd if your used to traditional cup holders and having someone's back in your knees. Quick tip: Place your folded menu/bill wallet up on the top of the rail so they can see you are finished or in need of service. Highly recommend the Chips and Salsa. It comes with hot chips, spicy Salsa, Chili con Queso and Spinach Artichoke Dip. More then just one person can eat!
