Not your Mama's Tex-Mex. Not even Mexico City, Mexican. Something all together different and definitely delicious. The $9.99 lunch special is a great way to sample several dishes. Then come back for dinner for full sized portions of your favorites. The guava cheesecake is a stand out, as is the "real" guacamole. Just don't expect the latter to be the same each time. I think it changes daily - or with the chef's mood. No matter, it has always been tasty.
Jonathan has managed to add his own special touch to just about everything here. Last Friday I had his Fish special - Amber Jack oven roasted and served over mashed potatoes with mushrooms, scallions and peas. He scowled when I called Shepherd's Pie, but it did remind me of it. Of course Shepherd's Pie doesn't have a not too sweet sauce of fresh Texas peaches... Go! You won't be disappointed.
