Burma is the name the British colonialists imposed. The Myanmar authorities changed the country's name to Myanmar because they wanted a name that was less ethnocentric. Burmese are one of many ethnic groups in the country, and calling the country Myanmar reflects that.

It's funny how every crime that happens in Brooklyn on Labor Day gets blamed on the parade.Even funnier how the racist nimrods (like the two other commenters on this thread) use this as "proof" of their preexisting bias against Black people.
