I guess it's possible that she really didn't realize she hit a person & *thought* someone threw something at her car. It's tragic either way.

    Udupi Cafe

Udupi Cafe is an all-vegetarian Southern Indian restaurant with something for everyone. I'd been hearing about Udupi for ages & never checked it out, as it's a little far from my house. I've never had a good reason to drive out there just to eat. I love Indian food, but as a vegan it's hard to find a variety of options, as so many Indian dishes contain cream or paneer cheese. (That is, besides the usual veggie curry, which can get boring after a while.) Udupi, on the other hand, has a *massive* selection of vegan options; so many, in fact, that the menu can be a little intimidating! On my first visit my boyfriend & I ordered 3 dishes and 2 different types of bread to share. The amount of food that came out was insane, and our table quickly filled up. (We were with 2 other people that also ordered a couple extra things to share & try out.) We literally had enough left-over food for about 3 additional meals each, and even re-heated the food tasted great. Everything we ordered was delicious- I can't recall the names of the dishes we tried, but I wouldn't hesitate to order anything off the menu. The staff were very friendly & welcoming- they were more than happy to assist in explaining dishes & were very patient with us (we took *ages* to decide what we wanted). The prices are also fantastic- we were really surprised at how little our bill was after ordering such an excess of food. If you're not close to Udupi, and you enjoy vegetarian and/or vegan Indian food, it really is worth the drive to get there. I can't wait to go back again & try some other dishes.

    Pizza Heaven

Pizza Heaven is my new favourite restaurant. As a vegan, it's hard to find Italian food *anywhere*, so my boyfriend & I were especially stoked to find out that Pizza Heaven has a FULL vegan menu. He's not vegan, so we like to frequent restaurants that offer us both options- Pizza Heaven is definitely one of those places. I've now eaten there a couple of times, and my favourite thing on the menu is the vegan baked ziti. It's incredible, and I don't use that word lightly. I've also had the vegan calzone with sausage & the vegan sausage parmigiana (hot sandwich). Both were good, but I've gone back to the baked ziti more than once now. We recently took friends there & ate at the restaurant for the first time, and they really enjoyed it also. I can't recommend this place enough!

    Republic Ramen & Noodles

I visited Republic Ramen & Noodles for the first time about a week ago. My boyfriend & I were planning on stopping at Subway, saw this place, and decided to try it out instead. The atmosphere inside the place is really great, and the people working there were more than happy to explain things on the menu. I ordered a couple of appetizers, as I wasn't too hungry, and both were great. It's hard to go wrong with edamame & veggie tempura, but my boyfriend also really enjoyed his big bowl of ramen, and he had plenty of left-overs to take home! We're definitely planning on going back- hopefully when I'm a little more hungry this time! There's also a huge boba/tea bar inside- I've heard the peach tea boba is pretty spectacular, but I've yet to try it out for myself!
