The crowds are "less pervasive"? The regular wait time for a table is 2-3 hours... It's insanely loud, and insanely packed. The atmosphere actually sucks horribly, but the food is better than Animal. The writing makes me wonder if the authors have been to either restaurant...
" there are the aforementioned rattlesnake-and-rabbit, which is better in theory than actuality" What the fuck. No, it's not. That sausage is one of the best in the city. It's the perfect blend of buttery fattiness, and smooth, slightly smokey savoriness. It's damn near the perfect link. It'...
To leave Salt's Cure off this list is a grievous error. It shows that it is amateurs doing the writing. I can only assume being paid by certain places to place them on these lists, whether they'll admit it or not.
Bigmouth micahrzehnder What dishes have you had at Bäco?... I've had quite a bit of the menu (and about half of the menu or more changes regularly...). I cannot fathom the metric by which Animal would be good, while those dishes failing to be so.
Bigmouth micahrzehnder Let me guess, you came in looking for a Mozza clone (like everywhere else is content to be) and were upset to find something different going on? (You realize they aren't supposed to be pizzas...right?) The house soda is kind of a joke on purpose...and it's the only so...
Bigmouth micahrzehnder True enough. Bäco is way ahead of Animal, not even in the same league really.
Animal? Really? It's good, but it's overhyped. Among the city's best, but not THE best. Is it really even in the top 10? What about places like Salt's Cure? Or Bäco Mercat (perhaps the best representation of LA cuisine in the city)? The Animal obsession is very strange.
Out of how many stars is the rating? Three? Four? Five? The review sounds almost five star, but it's rated only three...
I don't get it.The problem is that Olive Garden isn't really much cheaper than a SERIOUS Italian restaurant. What is the eggplant parm? $13?You could go to Angellini Osteria and get their famous lasagna for $16. You get unlimited assorted bread, and often a free starter of some kind from the...
I was there that night! The goat chops were delicious, too bad they didn't get a shot of them!(I'm third from the left at the salumi bar in the long shot)
