Walked in here during First Fridays and there was an awesome poetry slam going on and the place was packed. A great place to do work or socialize with friends. It's called Fair Trade for a reason and you can read about it on a bulletin board on your way to the bathroom. I'm a chai tea drinker and admittedly, not the best chai I've ever had, but I'll keep going back to support the place and what it represents. Great jams playing and art for sale. All in all another hipster's perfect coffee spot.
These people pad their reviews. The place is not all that bad but it’s not great enough to be getting all of these rave reviews, they are being posted by friends or staff, or both. If you post a complaint on their facebook page they will immediately delete it and not respond to you. Here is a real review. Atmosphere is a bit dingy or cozy, depending on how you view it. Prices are high to off the charts as compared to other coffee houses. Service is good to average and staff is normally friendly. There is absolutely nothing to get overly excited about, it’s a typical neighborhood coffee house with prices higher than a Starbucks.
BTW: if they are out of a pastry that you want they will always promise to bake more of it next time. This is total B.S, it is a standard answer that they give to everyone and it never happens, they forget about it 5 minutes later. Dishonest and not a smart way to treat customers.
