I think that the show was really good and not so stuck up like a lot of other concerts I've seen. Everybody there were working hard and were really friendly. And I saw some well known faces in the dance community there as well. They are certainly not amateurs.
...And I know they didn't start 40 minutes late. I was watching the time.

A very fun performance all round. I was impressed with the amount of people that showed up, and was glad I got their early. The entire show, both acts, were all very creative and emotion filled. You could see the passion on the faces of the performers and in their movements. It was so inspirational I didn't mind the packed seating. The Diavlo performance space has always boasted of extraordinary stunt related dance acts, so I, and even perhaps Mikenap21,( Who I am only mentioning because I found his review quite dishonest and distasteful) thought that's what we were going to see, but I am a true artist that doesn't let my originally expectations ruin the different, but still awesome, performance that ended up happening. Sure their were no Major prop Stunts, But there was plenty of well performed dances and a few body stunt dances that were very impressive, Anyone who was as unhappy as this jerk, who I had the displeasure of sitting next to during the first act, (via his pic) should avoid Any theater performance altogether. He and about 3 others left after the 1st act, still complaining. Which the rest of us around him were very happy to see. freed up few seats, one of which was a comfortable couch. No one else left though, the whole place was still packed for the second act and I could see why. A few more stunt related dances, but mostly beautiful performances, which a true artist would Appreciate. Sure it wasn't what I originally expected, But I was glad I was there and was able to watch such So many Thought-provoking performances, Surrounded by like-minded people. The strength and dedication shown brightly on all the performers and their performances. I originally didn't much care for modern dance, But thanks to this performance I will be waiting for another event from these particular people. I just hope they figure out a better seating situation, If they end up having it at this same Performance space.
This event was an absolute farce. A completely amateur production. I am sure that LA Weekly reprinted the press release verbatim and had no idea what an folly this event really was. The event started 40 minutes late. Most of the dancers were clearly beginners. The choreography, if you could all it that, was hackneyed when it was whimsical and art school pompous when it was earnest. Many in the audience were happy to escape at intermission. I am very disappointed that LA Weekly gave this a full paragraph in the calendar as if an endorsement. I will think twice in the future before I consider a calendar listing from the LA Weekly and, without hesitation, suggest people think twice before wasting there money on this dance festival that will do nothing but set the cause of popular dance back many a step.
