I too used to live at block 1949 for some time. It is by far the worst student living complex to live at. It is unsafe, unsanitary, and full of liars. I was definitely not satisfied at all about having to live here. I hated going home because of how disgusting this place is. And if you think riding the block bus is a "perk," it really isn’t. The bus is always crammed and they don't even turn the air on because they can't afford it. I would have rather paid for a parking pass then lived here and taken the embarrassing bus they offer. This apartment complex has no money and that is why residents aren’t even receiving the gift cards they were promised. Clearly, it is because they were never purchased and never will be purchased. There is nothing worst then hearing someone say they will do something and then it NEVER happens. Giving residents free pizza and donuts cost nothing for the company and are basically comped every time by restaurants for advertising. The upkeep of Block 1949 is terrible and there is no money in this complex to be used anywhere else around the property.
The problems start from the office staff and go to the actual apartment itself. First off, the staff is always putting on a show. They don't care about you at all, they just want to receive their free rent for living there. This honestly shouldn’t be that big of a reward because living at this place is embarrassing. If you have ever been unhappy with a management team, this one is ten times worst. They have no sense of direction at all. The way they solve problems is irrational and completely illogical and just stupid. Scratch that, I am pretty sure they don't know how to solve problems at all. Also the whole office is full of "pot heads." I know this because one of my friends said that they had smoked with boys in the office before. That is only the staff part of this whole terrible place.
THIS PLACE IS UNSAFE. How can you make the rent so high when three people were shot at there? Yes, one did get gun powder on them but the other two were injured. No parent in their right mind should ever let their child live here. The "Fobs" they give you aren't even safe and gates and doors get left open all the time for strangers to come in. There is nothing worst then not feeling safe when going home especially in their parking garage.
To top it all off management has their own staff and friends of the staff write these four star reviews? Don't you know that the place you work for sucks. Their disgusting so called, "marketing director," has no common says and I’m pretty sure contacts all of these apartment rating sites to get the negative reviews down.
DONT LIVE HERE. Trust me if you sign that lease you're signing away the worst year of your life.
