My daughter and her best friend had tickets to see 'One Direction' at the Comerica Theatre this past June. When we arrived at the venue I had to wait with them in order to pick up their VIP tickets, (which were in my name).
It was the worst experience that I have EVER had with any band or concert- and this is my youngest daughter, I have been doing this concert stuff for awhile!
The security team was late for work and we were all forced to stand outside in the direct afternoon summer sun for well over an hour after the announced time. Then I got to be trampled by a hundred or so young screaming girls who were all pushing and shoving to get in the doors, there was no crowd control of any kind and once I was trampled for half an hour or so I got to get my purse searched by an extremely rude door guard. Now it would be one thing if I had been entering the venue but I was just signing for the tickets.
After a bit more pushing and shoving another rude security guard grabbed my daughters glow bracelets and threw them in a trash can and took the posters that my daughter and her friend had spent all week making. Even though they have always taken these type of things with them to concerts, we were supposed to have guessed by the rude guys behavior that it was not allowed at this venue.
After another half an hour waiting to pick up the tickets I was finally able to leave and guess what? When I asked the staff a question about the approximate time the concert would end, I was told that they "had no idea"... and they were rude!
I hope I never have to see this venue again because their staff sucks!
