It's too bad Pizza Republica is still in business, but hopefully the doors will be closing soon. I don't have a problem with a business making a mistake, but it is then up to the business to make it right with the customer....something that this business does not see the necessity to do. It is unfair to the customer to run a Groupon through June 1 and then close over Memorial Day weekend and not extend the Groupon for those who drove 30 minutes one way (an hour round trip) to try and use it. It is more troubling that the business person then lies to that customer TWICE in the conversation - once saying that they could not extend the time because of Groupon's policies (incorrect because other businesses who have had trouble meeting their timelines for a variety of reasons have not put this off as Groupon's issue) and then saying that they were only closed on Monday (again not true...they were closed on Sunday night AND all day Monday). But worse than all this is the attitude of the person who would not yield and made the entire issue MY fault and did so in such an incredibly rude manner. The happy thing is that, when I spoke to him, he was in a darkened building as the entire restaurant had lost its power and had to close for yet another evening. Bad karma perhaps? There are A LOT of pizza places out there and there is no need to support a business who does not take care of its customers. Shame on you Pizza Republica.
